The IP-Jet encapsulates both full and fractional E1 and TDM circuits including the framing and signalling bits into IP packets. These packets are then transported across the enterprise intranet, Local Area Network, Metropolitan Area Network or Wide Area Network. The IP-Jet Gateway differs significantly from VoIP gateways. Maintain all of your existing call handling features such as call hold, call transfer, voice mail and even conference call. IP-Jet (TDMoverIP) gateways take a much straighter approach than traditional Voice over IP (VoIP systems) by taking the incoming TDM data stream and slicing it into IP packets, then adds the IP header, and lastly sends it on to its destination.

The IP-Jet Quad E1 has the Duplicate packets transmission and reception feature that provides for resilient performance through a very poor interconnect link.
