Deployment of the LAN in an old building not prepared for this use

The deployment of the LAN Ethernet in a building is often a significant wiring operation due to the structure or the seniority of the buildings. The use of the pairs of copper of telephony, already used or not, could be a simple and less expensive solution to implement the LAN.

The VDSL is a technology appropriate to this use, because its best speed of 12Mbps could be reached in the range of 800 meters, according to the quality of the line. It makes it possible to connect users to the LAN over VDSL as if they would directly connected in 10BaseT LAN Ethernet. Then the VDSL user will access to all servers of the LAN and will surf on Internet like the others LAN’s user.

SWM-12VD-TTX are connected to the level of telephony wiring cabinet in drop insertion between the company’s PBX and the telephone set lines. VD2FT-S are ending the line in front of the telephone and the Ethernet station.

Each station connected to VD2FT-S will appear in the LAN as of the connection of the VDSL switch SWM-12VD-TTX on the LAN. Moreover one will be able to set up by SWM-12VD-TTX a VLAN strategy per port to simplify and make safe the accesses to the various server or Internet.

No wiring operation is needed, except installation of RJ11 to connect the internal splitter to the PBX. The telephony would be not be affected by this addition of the LAN.
