ANALOG MODEMS for LEASED LINE or DIAL-UP/PSTN transmission

Anderson Jacobson, now CXR Anderson Jacobson, historically and continues to be a major manufacturer of Dial-up or Leased Line modems. We developed the “Acoustic coupler modem”, more than 50 years ago, which helped spawn a whole new line of products for the enterprise, time sharing customers and home office industries.

Today CXR Anderson Jacobson provides an extensive range of modems for the US, European and worldwide markets for Professional and Office applications. These highly reliable modems include many protocols and security features.

Analogue Modems for Office or Standard applications:

This range of analogue modems, or voice frequency modems, is intended to be used for Internet access, fax or file transfer to remote access device (RAS) over the PSTN. Because of the high quality and accuracy of protocols these devices are also used for POS or industrial remote control applications.

The 56xx series voice frequency PSTN modem can be used in the European/African/Middle East/US PSTN networks up to V90/V92. This modem is available with RS232, PCI, ISA or Bluetooth user stations.

Professional voice frequency modems over PSTN, Leased Line or Long Distance Private Copper

Several thousand of these professional modems, or “Power Modems”, have been delivered to Telco Defense, Utilities and Transportation companies. They provide remote administration of equipment deployed for data collection or process control.

CXR Anderson Jacobson has continued to enhance the product with added features and protocols. The 2885P represents the latest in technology for the analogue/voice frequency modem.

These modems are able to transmit asynchronous or synchronous data over the PSTN, Leased Line with PSTN back-up or over private copper for up to 22km. Secure authentication is provided by implementing certain hardware and software features.

The 2885P is the most recent modem from CXR Anderson Jacobson which includes most types of transmission protocols recommended by the IUT-T. It is able to interconnect directly to a large number of RTU or NTU devices using a special protocol and has a very flexible local interface. This equipment is available in a desktop, industrial case or rack mounted system.
