2885P Professional Modem

The AJ2885P is the latest in a long line of professional voice frequency modems from CXR Anderson Jacobson.

The 2885P supports all standard speeds and modulation schemes from 300 to 33.6 Kbps over the PSTN or 2/4 wire leased line. Extensive feature sets such as unattended automatic dial back-up, error correction/data compression, configuration options and access security make the 2885P the modem of choice for many applications.

All versions of the 2885P’s product family support MNP4/5 and V42/V42Bis the standard protocols for error correction and data compression.

The 2885P includes a very complete V24/RS232 user interface in both asynchronous and synchronous mode. The interface can be configured in V24/V28 or in V11 mode and can be connected to a X21/V35 device without a need for a converter or additional interface through configuration steps and cable adapter.

The 2885P-FT model provides all the modem functions required for access to the PSTN network like V34 V21, V22Bis, V32Bis, V34 and V23 (half and full duplex) and Group III fax I up to 14.4 KBPS. It provides automatic recall and password access security. It is equipped with a DTMF code detector. This product is the modem of choice for the industry professionals who work with industrial remote data collection, access control and remote-control. The models 2885P-Fx, 2885P-Bx, 2885-Tx and 2885P-Sx are equipped with a choice of interfaces depending on the application. The transmission levels can be set from 0 to -24 dBm. The leased line connection has an automatic Dial Back-up over PSTN network in case of a break or strong degradation. CXR’s intelligent loopback feature monitors the leased line signal quality and will automatically switch back to the leased line with no interruption of the data transmission when the circuit is restored.,

The 2885P is particularly adapted to industrial and special applications because it has features such as,

flash memory allowing software upgrades in the field. It can be delivered as an SD or MD model with a LCD display and push button key to simplify the configuration of the unit and it is equipped with dry contact relays to provide for alarms and remote-access.

The 2885P is available with a choice of enclosure and AC or DC 12 to 36 Vdc and 48 Vdc power. For industrial needs, the 2885P is provided with a robust metal box that is particularly suited for harsh environments found in RTU/SCADA applications for utilities and water management networks.

A rack card version of the 2885P fits into one of our 19 inches rack 1U AMS-4, or the 4U AMS-16 with redundant power and a CFIP card for SNMP management.
