DS 8124 IP-DSLAM 24 to 120 ADSL / ADSL2 / ADSL2+ channels
This DSLAM is best suited to deliver Internet access in hotels, hospitals, conference centres and campuses. It can also be utilized by ISPs to distribute Internet Services in low density areas. The unit is very flexible; it can provide local administration as a stand alone system or can be easily incorporated into a larger ISP network.
The DS8124 supports ADSL, ADSL2 and ADSL2+ with a respective maximum downstream rate of 8 Mbps, 12.4 Mbps and 26.9 Mbps and an upstream rate of 1.1 Mbps or 3 Mbps when the CPE is supporting the Annex M mode. The transmission is between the modem and DSLAM along the copper line is based on IP/ATM/ADSL. From the uplink to the network transmission is doing IP over Ethernet in bridge mode or PPPoE.
Maximum distance reached is 4.8km (2.98 miles) with a downstream/upstream rate of 1.6/.6 Mbps.

ADSL line throughput can be limited in n x 64kbps. Rate and QoS settings are stored in profiles by port, login and password based on authentication with an integrated Radius client (802.1x) . The DS8164 can be easily integrated into an ISP’s central network management system.

The DS8164 has24 built-in splitters to add analog voice from a PSTN switch or PBX . The voice traffic is added by installing cables to the two Telco50 connectors on the unit; one goes to the PBX and the other to the distribution frame. Adding ADSL service to active voice lines doesn’t effect the voice quality and sound level.
The DS8124 is also equipped with dual Combo Ethernet ports 10/100/1000BaseT and 1000SX/FX SFP.. This layer 2 Ethernet switch supports VLAN tagging , QoS based on RFC 2475 DiffServ/TOS, Spanning Tree STP and RSTP and 8 VC ATM per ADSL circuit for easy deployment of Triple Play services (VoIP, TVoIP and Ethernet access).
The DS8124 also supports IGMP snooping for up to 256 groups and IGMP proxy dynamics or static configurations for IPTV and video on demand over public infrastructure or industrial campuses.

Up to 5 DS8124 can be stacked together with a single IP address by utilizing the Ethernet uplink ports.
