FOCI Ethernet/Gigabit Ethernet media converter module remotely managed

This module is a pure converter or 2 port switch Ethernet/Gigabit Ethernet ,copper/fiber or fiber/fiber. It is remotely administrated over the fiber (In-Band) by the central FOCIR card. It can also be deployed as a stand alone plug and play media converter.

The FOCI model includes a pure optical converter (100FX multimode to single-mode and 1000SX to 1000LX), and a media converter/switch (10/100Baset to fiber or 10/100/1000Baset to fiber). This is a plug and play device with automatic speed, duplex mode and MDI/MDIX negotiation.

When FOCI modules are utilized in a point-to-point mode and no parameters are forced by the Ethernet interface of active equipments , the copper interfaces automatically adjust at the higher speed and full duplex mode. Loop testing of the link is activated by pushing a small incrusted push button on the unit.

When connecting to the FOCI over the associated card of the FOCIR in the AMS-MEDIA16-SNMP, from the chassis in html, or Telnet, you can access the status of the copper/fiber interfaces, access to setup of both interfaces, flow/duplex/MDI-MDIX and launch local tests or distant test from the local end.
