CopperWAY-3 dual G.SHDSL modem Bus/Ring with Ethernet, RS-232/RS-485 and 2 Input/Output contact ports

This equipment is designed for data collection and remote control supervision over IP and asynchronous interfaces on copper in a Bus or Ring topology. This technology is particularly effective with Intelligent Highway networks, airports, utilities and the distribution of gas and water systems.

This hybrid equipment is a convergence of CXR Anderson Jacobson’s knowledge of old and new industrial networks. This system can be adapted to a large range of older and newer generation RTUs and NTUs by using existing single pair telephone lines.

The CopperWAY-3 can provide two simultaneous independent transmission streams from 64 Kbps to 2.3 Mbps in two directions utilizing G.SHDSL technology. The rate is auto-adaptive to the quality and the length of the copper pairs.

The CopperWAY-3 includes a bypass relay between both DSL lines to insure continuity in case of failure or lack of power in the node. The ring transmission is protecting by Spanning Tree Protocol.

The RS-232/RS-485 flow from a node is encapsulating in IP with Raw-TCP or RFC2217 frame to another CopperWAY or to another device like terminal server TS224, TS1124 or FiberWAY or QX3440-TS3.

A SWM-24GS enables you to provision 24 2S CopperWAY-3 or 12 4W CopperWAY-SW in a Bus or Ring topology.

The CopperWAY-3 fits in a compact metallic, DIN rail mounting enclosure with:

• 1 Ethernet port 10/100BaseT and internal switch to optimize the local and 2 ports DSL traffic,
• 1 RS-232/RS-485 asynchronous port, with terminal server function in Telnet, RAW-TCP and RFC 2217 modes to provide encapsulation transport to other CopperWAY, FiberWAY, TSxx24 or TCP-IP server,
• 2 digital inputs and digital outputs for remote-control equipment.
