CopperWAY-Bis
Switch dual port G.SHDSL-Bis 5.7Mbps or 11.4Mbps, and
dual 100FX modem Bus/Ring switch, with up to 4 Ethernet, 4 RS-232/RS-485
and 2 Input/Output dry contact ports
The CopperWay-Bis is designed to distribute Ethernet and asynchronous links over a multipoint network within either a Bus or Ring topology. It can be easily and quickly deployed within the transportation communications infrastructure (ie; railway, traffic control and surveillance, or for airport security), and also can be used for energy distribution communications requirements.
This combination modem/switch concentrates different IP and asynchronous equipment at each node, such as IP-Cameras, emergency IP-Phone and RTUs.

The CopperWay-Bis delivers Ethernet ports and four V24/RS232/RS485 asynchronous serial interfaces along an industrial infrastructure made of copper pairs and / or optical fiber.
The CopperWay-Bis provides four transmission accesses : two 2/4 wire SHDSL interfaces ,with a 11.4 Mbps max throughput, and two 100FX optical interfaces. These interfaces support any multipoint topologies : star, bus or secured ring.
The CopperWay-Bis embeds a high performance Ethernet switch that minimizes transfer delay in the equipment, and reduces the end-to-end delay over the network. Ethernet interfaces are served by a bridge or an IP router engine. Automatic 10/100 Mb/sec speed detection and MDI/MDIX polarity configuration are both supported. The first Ethernet port also delivers of POE power, (up to 15W),,useful to power other equipment, such a IP-cameras.
The CopperWay-Bis is also a four asynchronous serial port server over ip/tcp/udp protocols, and telnet, raw-ip, bloc / message, HNZ modes of operation, as well as rfc-2217 for emulating a PC COM port (*). The first interface can be set as either RS232 or RS485.
The CopperWay-Bis provides two SHDSL interfaces, (East and West), that can operate in either 2 or 4 wire mode. It complies with the G.SHDSL-Bis / TCP-PAM 16/32 standard, with 192 kbps to 5.7 Mbps throughput per pair, ie 11.4 Mbps per access. This high data rate associated with the QoS control is well suited for video and multiple services transport, while SHDSL ensures long distance, symmetrical and robust communications.
The CopperWay-Bis also provides two optical interfaces on SFP sockets that can connect either to an Ethernet / IP terminal, or even to a bus or ring fiber infrastructure. Mixed networks can be built to satisfy any distance and throughput requirement, thanks to this DSL and fiber extended connectivity.
The CopperWay-Bis offers many network control features to optimize the various application data flows. Application traffic can be inserted into VLANs throughout the network . QoS strategies, priority queuing, rate limiting can be applied to various classes of Ethernet / IP traffic.
The CopperWay-Bis is contained withina compact and robust metallic enclosure, with DIN rail mounting and a dual input 12-60 Vdc supply. It can be easily installed in a 19’’ bay as well.
