SWM-8VD4-2TGTX 4-band VDSL 8 port concentrator at 25 Mbps with 2 x 10/100/1000BaseT trunking ports

This layer 2 switch provides 8 VDSL links up to 25Mbps when connected to VD4FT-S or VD4FT-4TTX modems. It’s used to install a LAN network at lower costs by utilizing the existing copper plant carrying the telephone subscriber lines. This VDSL switch can also be used to deploy Internet Wi-fi hotspot.

The 4-band VDSL technology transports the Ethernet flow over HDLC framed on VDSL. This transmission without ATM encapsulation doesn’t insert latency; this is particularly efficient for the deployment of TV over IP (TVoIP) in hospital, hotels or last mile for ISP’s deploying fiber to buildings. Rates are 25 Mbps up to 800 m (.5 miles), 15 Mbps up to 1.3 km (.81 miles) or 5 Mbps up to 1.9 km (1.18 miles).

The SWM-8VD4-2TGTX contains layer 2 switch features such as Ethernet bridging, spanning tree, multicast and VLAN software packages that provide advanced layer 2 functionality particularly effective for Voice over IP (VoIP), Video on Demand (VOD), IP TV (IPTV) and online gaming..

This is a simply plug and play application. An IP address is installed in the switch and the CPE devices are automatically provisioned as they are connected to the switch.

Simultaneous Voice and Data

The SWM-8VD-2TGTX includes 8 built-in splitters for POTS/ISDNlines with U0 interfaces. The installation of VDSL over PSTN line between PBX and telephone set doesn’t affect the quality or the sound level of the telephone line. This is a very easy solution for deploying a LAN over existing copper facilities.
