The SpeederLan-Bis is a high rate access device used to connect Ethernet networks over four to eight pair of copper lines. This high speed equipment is used to extend LAN branches, or to connect isolated stations on large copper based infrastructures, such as military sites, transportation, or energy. It can also be used by Telcos to install Ethernet access for 4G hot-spots, or interconnect 4G BTS sites.
Based on G.SHDSL-Bis and EFM Ethernet First Mile transmission and OAM IEEE 802.3ah management, the SpeederLAN-Bis transmits Ethernet payloads with 5.7 Mbps rate per copper pair, in full duplex. The 4 pair model supports a 22.8Mbps maximum rate and the 8 pair model supports up to 45Mbps, thanks to the use of EFM bonding.
The rate is auto-adaptive to the line distance and quality. With a good quality 26 AWG twisted pair wire a maximum line rate of 45 Mbps at 2.9km, or a distance of 8 km with 1.5Mbps rate is possible. This distance can be increased to 13km if lower loss 24 AWG or 22 AWG wire pairs are used.
Three Ethernet 10/100BaseT ports are available to connect Ethernet devices, and for management use. The SpeederLAN-Bis is a powered Ethernet bridge managing VLAN per port or tagged VLAN IEEE802.1q. It applies the QoS based per port, or a DSCP port of IP frames.
The SpeederLAN-Bis provides point to point interconnections, or multipoint, or a ring with four copper pair groups.
The SpeederLAN-Bis can be supplied contained within a compact metal box with a DC 48V or AC 110/230V power supply. As a rack card it can be integrated in the standard 19" rack mount AMS4 or AMS16-PS16-200W shelves.
The SWM-GSBIS-xxCPE is a 19” 5U concentrator based on a bundle package with one AMS16-PS16-240W, SpeederLAN-Bis-2x2 ou SpeederLAN-Bis-8 cards and a GE Layer2 switch. This solution can concentrate 2 GE up to 32 CopperLAN-Bis in 2/4 wire or 32 SpeederLAN-Bis-4 or 16 SpeederLAN-Bis-8 distant devices.
The SWM-24GSBIS is a 19" 1U concentrator Layer2 Ethernet switch of 24 GSHDSL-Bis pairs to 2 Combo GE/SFP. This solution can concentrate up to 24 CopperLAN-Bis in 2 wire or 12 in 4 wire or 6 SpeederLan-Bis-4 in 4 wire.
